SPRING TERM CLUBS
Clubs will start on week commencing Monday 23rd January and run for eight consecutive weeks. Most clubs will finish on Friday 23rd March.
The only exceptions to the above dates are as follows:-
Karate – As this is an external club, the instructor has decided that the final lesson of the Spring Term is expected to be on Wednesday 30th March (TBC). Please note that the instructor is to be paid directly, on a weekly basis. Parents are welcome to stay and watch. Please ensure you are in the Gym for 3.30 pm, otherwise we respectfully request that you collect your child from the main children’s entrance at the end of the session at 4.30 pm. There will be NO ACCESS via the Office. Thank you.
Tri-Golf – Due to an INSET day on Friday 10th February, the final session will take place on Friday 30th March.
Multi Skills – Due to an INSET day on Friday 10th February, the final session will take place on Friday 30th March.
Where should I collect my child from when their club has finished?
The collection point for all clubs is the main children’s entrance. Please wait outside the main doors for a member of staff to allow access to all parents at the appropriate time.
How do I know if my child’s club has been cancelled?
Where we know in advance that a club will need to be cancelled (i.e. Parents’ Evenings), your child will be informed by the club organiser the week before and they will be reminded in assemblies. We will also put a message on the school website, so please check regularly!
In the case of bad weather, it is now usual for the children to remain at school until the finish time for the club. Occasionally, it may be that we have to send children home, in which case the Office staff will contact you as soon as possible.
My child has now decided that they would like to take part in a club. Can I add their name to the list?
Once the club lists have gone up, we are unable to add further to the numbers. In virtually all cases, clubs already have the maximum number of children in them. Club letters are distributed to every child from Reception upwards at the start of the term. There is usually a window of approximately ten days in which to complete and return the form, however, many clubs are extremely popular and we would therefore encourage children to return forms immediately if they are keen on participating in a particular club, as places are limited and are allocated on a first come, first served basis.
My child is in Reception/Year 1. Do I need to come in and help get them changed/supervise them?
For those children doing Art Club, their teachers will ensure that they are taken to Mrs Madden’s classroom. As with all other clubs, please wait at the Main Children’s Entrance to collect them at 4.15 pm.
For those children taking part in Mixed Football or Multiskills, they will be collected from their classrooms by the club organisers and taken to 2I to get changed. Please ensure that they have something warm to wear as the training takes place outside, so a tracksuit would be ideal, with perhaps a light weight waterproof jacket. Once the children are changed, they will take their belongings up to the gazebo.
Again, the collection point, as with all clubs, is the Main Children’s Entrance.
