Lingfield football Club was formed in 1893 in the
time of Queen Victoria this was the same year that the football league
started. The club’s headquarters in those days was the Victoria club and
the games where played at the Alms Houses opposite Mount Pleasant Road.
The club today plays most of their home games at Godstone Road. The team
plays in The Mathew Clarke Sussex County League division three. The team
colours have stayed the same scarlet and amber. We have three adult
teams and our juniors run from under 18 to the under sixes, all are
welcome.
